MODIFICATION OF THE COSMOCAIXA PLANETARIUM FLOOR PLATFORM

Renovation and functional adaptation project for the CosmoCaixa Planetarium, aimed at enhancing the visitor experience through the reconfiguration of the auditorium's stepped floor platform.

The intervention involves modifying the geometry of the existing stepped seating platform by reducing the number of seating rows and increasing the spacing between them to provide greater usable depth. This new layout allows the existing seats to be repositioned with a greater backrest recline, improving ergonomics, user comfort, and the quality of sightlines towards the projection dome.

The project enhances the functionality of the space without increasing its seating capacity, integrating new operational requirements through a carefully designed intervention that respects the existing architecture while meeting contemporary standards of accessibility and comfort.
